What’s Ahead for Generation O in 2025

As always, in 2025, our priority is you. From our home offices to your mobile device, we want to continue to support the families of Generation O. We know bio parents, kinship caregivers, foster and adoptive parents all need guidance on how best to help these sometimes-challenging kids.

In 2025, first and foremost, we will continue building out the resources on our website, and we hope you will assist us in sharing it with those in need.

Up next, working with the Residential Pediatric Recovery Centers around the country, we plan to implement a pilot project connecting their graduates with our resources. Our Thrive Points program will help encourage new parents of NAS babies, while rewarding them for educating themselves using our tools.

On the policy front, we will begin our direct advocacy efforts. Everyone in this space understands the need for a comprehensive diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) that describes the constellation of disorders common in opioid-exposed children. Introducing a new diagnosis is challenging. As an organization, we will undertake this challenge.

Our expansion in 2025 will include the addition of new affiliates, in addition to celebrating the launch of our first affiliate in East Tennessee, launched in Q4 2024.

As we develop information and templates for those interested in establishing local organizations, we will work together to target the hardest hit regions of America.

There are lots of exciting things ahead for Generation O. We are honored to do this work, and we are grateful to have you on this journey with us. Here’s to a brighter 2025 for the kids and families we serve.
