Lenette brings together her natural talent for organization, a diverse corporate background, and a deep personal commitment to improving the lives of opioid-exposed children as she leads a national organization she wishes didn’t have to exist.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Lenette was moved to share the hard-earned knowledge she gained raising her first opioid-exposed son after adopting her second. Her search for connection and collaboration led her to the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Support Group on Facebook, where she united a group of passionate women to help bring Generation O to life.

With her own experiences of recovery and childhood trauma, Lenette offers a rare, heartfelt perspective that allows her to relate deeply to the children and families Generation O serves.

Jeanine brings a strong sense of vision and purpose to her work with drug-exposed children, driven by both personal experience and a deep love for helping kids thrive.

For six years, she opened her home and heart as a foster parent, where she cared for two drug-exposed infants—one placed with her short-term, and another she later adopted. It was through this journey that Jeanine recognized a critical gap in support for caregivers raising substance-exposed children.

In response, she founded the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Support Group on Facebook to connect and uplift others navigating the same path. With a gift for organization and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child, Jeanine is committed to building a future where all children receive the care they need to grow and succeed.

Kim Cortes is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in program management, strategic planning, and organizational capacity building. Holding a Master’s and a Juris Doctorate, Kim brings a robust analytical background to her work.

As a nonprofit leader, state-level policy-maker, and independent consultant, Kim has dedicated her career to helping mission-driven organizations create policy and programs that drive real change.

Much of Kim's career has focused on disability inclusion and advocacy. Her work with this community left her frustrated that her opioid-exposed children lacked access to the same types of services and supports. This frustration led her to Generation O, where she now serves in a dual role as Director of Programs and Chief of Staff.

DIRECTOR OF AFFILIATE DEVELOPMENT Founding Member

A native of New Orleans, Amy relocated to Tennessee after Hurricane Katrina. She has served as a guardian ad litem for hundreds of drug-exposed, abused, or neglected children in East Tennessee courts, defended parents with substance use disorder in custody and termination proceedings, and handled adoptions for families, private agencies, and the TN Department of Children’s Services.

Before law school, Amy worked as a contract researcher for NBC News in London, a public relations executive in San Francisco, and earned a master’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of London.

In 2024, she founded Generation O East Tennessee, a 501(c)3 serving opioid-exposed children and their families, and co-founded Generation O, The National Organization for Opioid-Exposed Children. Amy is deeply passionate about giving a voice to opioid-exposed children and ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.

Cammy Livingston Aaron is a trailblazing New Orleans entrepreneur and co-founder of Generation O: The National Organization for Opioid-Exposed Children. As a busy mom of four and military wife to an active-duty Marine Corps Lt. Colonel, she balances family and purpose with relentless passion.

Through her thriving company, Camellia Productions, Cammy’s 20+ years of expertise in event management and strategic marketing—much of it dedicated to nonprofit causes—propels Generation O’s mission to uplift opioid-exposed kids nationwide.

Inspired by her late father, a quadriplegic who funded disability grants for over two decades after a car accident, Cammy channels her Crescent City grit into advocating for vulnerable children, forging partnerships, and building a legacy of hope with heart and hustle.

Heather Howard was born and raised in the Midwest and earned her accounting degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. After moving to California in 1991, she began her career as an accountant.

In 1995, Heather became a foster parent—a decision that reshaped her life. As children entered her home, she gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by substance-exposed kids and saw the critical gaps in support. Her dedication grew with every placement.

In 2020, she brought home a newborn from the NICU who had been exposed to substances and left largely unattended for weeks. That experience led her to a Facebook group for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, where she connected with Generation O. Heather and her husband Tom adopted that little boy in 2022.

Now a core member of Generation O, Heather is committed to supporting families like hers—sharing knowledge, building community, and making sure no one walks this journey alone.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND CREATIVE Founding Member

​Andrea Bonhiver is a Minneapolis-based graphic designer and writer with over 17 years of experience in design, marketing, and creative leadership. Her diverse experience spans various industries, including nonprofit, health and beauty, higher education, consumer services, religious institutions, retail, restaurants, law practice, and hospitality.

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bethel University and has pursued continuing education at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

Andrea is a cervical cancer survivor. She designed, authored, and published, "The Cervical Cancer Companion," a guide for those navigating the emotional and logistical challenges of cervical cancer. Her artistic and creative activism in the cervical cancer space prepared her well for the calling that came in 2024; she was given the honor and privilege of helping launch Generation O: The National Organization for Opioid-Exposed Children. Her work is inspired by and spurred on by her greatest job: Mama.
